WHAT YOU WILL STUDY
The Certificate in Biblical Studies covers ten carefully structured courses designed to give you a complete and balanced foundation in scripture, doctrine, and ministry practice.
Introduction to the Bible You will discover how the Bible was written, how it came together, and why it can be trusted. This course lays the groundwork for everything that follows.
Biblical Hermeneutics You will learn how to study, interpret, and apply the Bible correctly. This is one of the most transformative courses in the programme and has changed the way many of our graduates preach and teach.
Old Testament Survey You will journey through the Old Testament, understanding its major themes, books, and how it connects to the New Testament and to your life today.
New Testament Survey You will explore the New Testament from the Gospels to Revelation, understanding the life of Christ, the early church, and the letters of the apostles in their historical and theological context.
Christian Doctrine You will study the core beliefs of the Christian faith including the nature of God, the person of Christ, the Holy Spirit, salvation, and the church. This course gives you a strong doctrinal foundation that will anchor you for life.
Introduction to Theology You will be introduced to theological thinking and how it shapes Christian life and ministry. You will begin to see how theology is not just for academics but for every believer.
Foundations of Christian Living You will study what it means to live as a follower of Christ in the home, the workplace, the church, and the world. Practical and deeply personal.
Introduction to Ministry and Leadership You will explore the foundations of Christian ministry and leadership, understanding your calling, your gifts, and how to serve God and people effectively.
Digital Tools for Ministry This is one of the cutting edge subjects that sets LBC apart from traditional Bible colleges. You will discover how to use digital tools and your smartphone for ministry, outreach, and communication in the modern world.
Trauma Healing and Pastoral Care You will be introduced to the principles of trauma healing and how to minister to broken and hurting people with compassion, wisdom, and biblical truth.
COURSE INFORMATION
Duration: Six months, intensive.
Total courses: Ten.
An assignment is issued after the completion of each course and submitted for marking and grading.
Classes are held online via Zoom and physically in Lagos.
Class days: Every Saturday.
Class hours: 4:00pm to 6:00pm West Africa Time. International students join according to their local time zone equivalent.
A Certificate and letter of completion are issued upon graduating.
An official transcript is issued upon graduating.
You can learn and graduate from anywhere across Nigeria, the African diaspora, and the world.
Instruction is available in English and Yoruba.
