ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
The Diploma in Theology is a six month intensive programme offered by Levites Bible College, designed for believers who are ready to move beyond the foundations and go deeper into the Word of God, theological study, and ministry practice. This programme is for those who have a growing sense of calling and want the theological depth to match it.
Building on the foundations of the Certificate level, the Diploma in Theology takes you into serious biblical and theological territory. You will study the original languages of scripture, explore the major doctrines of the Christian faith in depth, and develop practical ministry skills that will transform the way you lead, preach, counsel, and serve.
What makes this programme different from traditional diploma programmes is that LBC does not stop at theory. You will engage with contemporary subjects that equip you for ministry in the modern world, including media, digital tools, and leadership in the twenty first century church.

WHAT YOU WILL STUDY
The Diploma in Theology covers twelve carefully structured courses across four tracks, giving you a comprehensive and balanced theological education that is both academically rigorous and practically relevant.
Biblical Studies Track
Biblical Hermeneutics A deeper and more advanced study of how to interpret scripture accurately and apply it correctly to life and ministry. This course builds significantly on what was introduced at certificate level and will permanently change the way you read and teach the Bible.
Introduction to Biblical Greek An introduction to the language of the New Testament. You will begin to understand Greek words, grammar, and how the original language enriches Bible study, preaching, and theological understanding in ways that no translation can fully capture.
Old Testament Theology Moving beyond survey into the major theological themes, covenants, and promises of the Old Testament. You will discover how the Old Testament speaks powerfully to the New Testament and to the church today.
New Testament Theology A theological study of the New Testament exploring the theology of the Gospels, the letters of Paul, and the general epistles in depth. You will understand the New Testament not just as history but as living theology for the church.
Theology Track
Systematic Theology One A structured and rigorous study of the major doctrines of the Christian faith including the doctrine of God, the doctrine of Christ, and the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. You will develop a solid and coherent theological framework that anchors everything you believe and teach.
Systematic Theology Two Continuing from Systematic Theology One, this course covers the doctrines of salvation, the church, and last things including death, resurrection, and the return of Christ. You will finish this course with a complete and biblically grounded understanding of the Christian faith.
Christian Ethics A study of how biblical and theological principles apply to moral decision making in personal life, ministry, and society. Covers the major contemporary ethical issues facing the church today and equips you to address them with wisdom, compassion, and biblical truth.
Ministry Track
Pastoral Theology and Practice A practical and theological study of pastoral ministry covering preaching, counselling, church administration, and the day to day care of a congregation. This course is deeply practical and immediately applicable to anyone serving in ministry at any level.
Homiletics — The Art of Preaching A focused and transformative course on how to prepare and deliver sermons that are biblically sound, contextually relevant, and spiritually powerful. Whether you have been preaching for thirty years or thirty days this course will make you a better preacher.
Church History A study of the history of the Christian church from the early church fathers to the present day, with particular attention to African church history and its significance for the Nigerian and African believer. You will discover where the church has been and what it means for where the church is going.
Contemporary Ministry Track
Leadership and Church Administration A study of Christian leadership principles and how to administrate a local church effectively. Covers vision casting, organisational structure, financial stewardship, and building and leading ministry teams with integrity and purpose.
Media and Ministry in the Digital Age One of the cutting edge subjects that sets LBC apart from traditional Bible colleges and seminaries. You will learn how to use media, social platforms, and digital tools strategically for ministry, outreach, evangelism, and church growth in the twenty first century. This course has already transformed the ministry approach of several of our graduates.
COURSE INFORMATION
Duration: Six months, intensive.
Total courses: Twelve.
An assignment is issued after the completion of each course and submitted for marking and grading.
Classes are held online via Zoom/Telegram and physically in Lagos.
Class days: Every Saturday.
Class hours: 4:00pm to 6:00pm West Africa Time. International students join according to their local time zone equivalent.
A Diploma and letter of completion are issued upon graduating.
An official transcript is issued upon graduating.
You can learn and graduate from anywhere across Nigeria, the African diaspora, and the world.
Instruction is available in English and Yoruba.
